Pre-design cost planning – this includes the compilation of the relevant data likely to influence cost on a given project i.e. local industry conditions, availability of work, CPI and PPI current trends, political uncertainty, likely social initiatives to be employed such as EPWP, enterprise development, CPG targeting etc.

Preliminary costs

compilation of preliminary costs based on assumed design particulars and preliminary design sketches. These are then compared to cost norms to understand the project limitations and set cost parameters for the project.

Detailed elemental costing

achieved subsequent to the production of the detailed design drawing and used as the base cost plan for the project, against which contemplated budgetary adjustments will be compared.

Procurement documentation

including detailed bills of quantities referenced to the relevant design drawings issued to tenderers, tender documentation including relevant design of functionality and contractual conditions and parameters.

Cost management during construction

The effective and proactive management of the defined budget including value engineering where required, production of statutory cost documentation and applications for additional funds based on accurate, negotiated and optimised cost solutions.

Final account production

Ensuring accountability and providing the user with the relevant information and training to effectively maintain and maximise the lifespan of a given infrastructure asset are the key focus areas at this stage.
